INSTALLATION - PLUTO RECEIVER HITCH - Variant 2

COMPATIBLE MODELS:

  • LH113, LH119

COMPONENTS:

  • Receiver hitch

  • (4) M12 x 1.25 x 35mm hex bolts

  • (4) M12 flat washers

  • (4) M12 split lock washers

TOOLS:

  • 19mm or 3/4” socket with ratcheting wrench

  • 14mm socket with ratcheting wrench

  • 12mm socket with ratcheting wrench

  • Torque wrench (up to 70 ft/lbs)

  • Grease

  • M12 x 1.25 tap and T-handle

  • Cutting oil

DIRECTIONS:

  1. Locate and prepare the (4) threaded mounting holes.

    1. Your van will have (2) pairs of threaded mounting holes for attaching the hitch, (2) on the outer side of each rear unibody frame members.

    2. If your van has a stock recovery point bracket, remove the (2) bolts attaching it to the unibody frame member.

    3. Discard the stock bracket and stock bolts.

    4. Chase/clean the (4) threaded holes with a M12 x 1.25 tap and T-handle. NOTE: be sure to use cutting oil, and DO NOT cross thread the tap.

    5. Blow out residual debris or shavings with compressed air or a spray solvent.

  2. Install the hitch.

    1. Remove the (1) 12mm head bolt from rear mounting point of fuel tank inlet hose cover.

    2. With assistance from a friend, lift the hitch into place.

    3. Thread in (4) M12 bolts into corresponding RIGHT and LEFT unibody frame members.

      1. Bolts should have (1) split lock washer and (1) flat washer.

      2. Use a small dab of grease or blue thread locker on the threads.

      3. Only tighten the bolts finger tight.

    4. Once all bolts are installed, torque the (4) M12 bolts to 80 ft/lbs
