1992 TOYOTA Hiace Super GL 4wd Diesel Van

Here is a set of preliminary photos of the 1992 Toyota HiAce Super GL 4wd van I have in the works. Keep in mind these are preliminary photos, so please reference the sold section of my website for images of what the final product will look like. Here are a couple Hiace Super GL models I recently customized and sold:

This HiAce has a diesel engine, with 5-speed manual transmission, and true high/low range 4wd. It clocks a low 91,000 original miles, which is really only getting started for Toyota's 3L model 2.8 liter diesel engine, known to exceed 500,000 miles before a rebuild is required.

This Super GL looks to have been well kept, and used as some kind of light cargo transporter. There are a few notable cosmetic repairs that could be made. You will have a few options here, see the last paragraph for details and pricing.

Consistent with all the vans we sell, it will receive a full timing belt job and maintenance update: new timing belt, new idler and tensioner pulleys, new camshaft and crankshaft seal, new water pump, new thermostat, new radiator cap, coolant flush, transmission fluid, fresh motor oil and filter, all new drive belts, new fuel filter, new air filter, fresh front and rear differential oil, fresh transfer case oil, and all new coolant carrying hoses. On top of all that, she'll get brand new all-terrain tires and a modest suspension lift. The van will also receive a full inspection, and any other incidental repairs will be made prior to the final sale release. Just before the final transfer, it will receive a full detail, inside and out.

A large part of what you gain when purchasing your vehicle from Vanlife Northwest is our knowledge base and experience throughout the life of your adventure mobile. I can confidently say no one in the US has more experience with these vans, and solutions for problems gleaned only from that first hand experience.

Pricing: We complete all of our full mechanical overhaul work cited above, detail the van inside and out, repaint the front and back bumpers black, but sell the van otherwise cosmetically as-is for $23,000. The rear door has had some kind of aftermarket ladder installed in the past, and it has since caused damage to the rear door. Add $1,300 to repair and repaint the rear door. There is a small amount of rust under the passenger side of the windshield. This is something we’ve frequently repaired in the past, and can address the issue for $600. There is some paint chipping with surface rust on the front left drip rail. We can treat the rust and touchup the paint for free. Add $250 to fully repaint the drip rail. The roof appears to have staining from a previously installed roof rack. I think we can buff this out during the detailing process. The lower front corner of the rear right side glass has a sloppily repaired patch of rust. Add $500 to have us more thoroughly repair the rust, and touchup paint the area. Alternatively, we can make the repair fully invisible by repairing the rust and fully painting and blending that side of the van. Add $1,200 for this level of repair. Add $100 to fix the minor rust patch in front of the rear right wheel.

Let me know if you are interested, and please feel free to call me with any questions, and to secure the van.
