This HiAce has the 1KZ 3.0 liter turbo diesel engine, with automatic 4-speed transmission, and full time 4wd. It clocks a very low 26,000 original miles, which is really only getting started for Toyota's 1KZ model diesel engine, know to exceed 500,000 miles before a rebuild is required.
This KZH138 model is unique in that is has the 1KZ turbo diesel, generally only available in the shortest wheelbase Hiaces from this era. The long wheelbase and extended roof allow for the best of both worlds- more powerful motor and extended cargo capacity.
The van appears to be in good condition, with a fair amount of paint and minor body damage. Please see below for pricing options.
Consistent with all the vans we sell, it will receive a full timing belt job and maintenance update: new timing belt, new idler and tensioner pulleys, new camshaft and crankshaft seal, new water pump, new thermostat, new radiator cap, coolant flush, all new coolant carrying hoses, transmission fluid, fresh motor oil and filter, all new drive belts, new fuel filter, new air filter, fresh front and rear differential oil, fresh transfer case oil. On top of all that, she'll get brand new all-terrain tires, and a 2” suspension lift with new camper-duty rear spring and (4) heavy-duty shocks. The van will also receive a full inspection, and any other incidental repairs will be made prior to the final sale release. Just before the final transfer, it will receive a full detail, inside and out.
A large part of what you gain when purchasing your vehicle from Vanlife Northwest is our knowledge base and experience throughout the life of your adventure mobile. I can confidently say no one in the US has more experience with these vans, and solutions for problems gleaned only from that first hand experience.
PRICING: Option 1 - We sell the van with all the above mechanical overhaul work, but otherwise cosmetically as-is for $22,000. Option 2 - We discuss options regarding varying levels of cosmetic repair.
Please note- this van was manufactured in June of 1997, and will therefore be legal for importation in June of 2022. I would estimate we would have it to our shop sometime in June or July 2022, and will begin work on it shortly thereafter.
